Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number [is] Six hundred threescore [and] six.
The number is 'of' a man.. like Karla said... not literal. Also, if you are a Christian, there is a possibility that you may not be here by the time the Anti Christ or Beast, is revealed. So don't sweat it. Posted by Kelly

there is also a possibility that we will be here for the mark of the beast. Problem is also, we know that it's not a literal number (666), but that doesn't mean it can't be. And also, remember it is possible to take the mark without realising it and in the process give up your salvation... but then again, if you're being led by the spirit that can't happen You can easily see how the world is going towards this "mark" though. It's like we are being conditioned... or trying to be conditioned. Posted by Leroy Moore

I don't believe that we will be able to take the mark without realizing it.
Rev 13:8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast–all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. Rev 13:15 He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. Rev 13:16 He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead It's very clear that those who's name is NOT written in the book of life will worship the Anti Christ. Also it says that people are FORCED to receive the mark or be killed. Doesn't sound like it's going to happen without one knowing it. Posted by Kelly

True, we will have to make a conscious decision. Giving in to being FORCED is still a decision. "It's very clear that those who's name is NOT written in the book of life will worship the Anti Christ." True say, I was in error in saying that people will lose there salvation due to taking the mark, as the bible doesn't say that. What I should have said is that it will seem that people will lose their salvation as there will be people who are in churches, and will be leaders in churches who will take the mark. Also, just re-read the text since I remembered that other text incorrectly, and the bible says that people will be made to take the name of the beast or the number of his name. So people may have to take an actual 666 in some form or another. Posted by Leroy Moore

666 is a number of a man not supernatural... merely a man who will be greatly influence by the devil. According to Daniel he will be crafty.....he will provide solutions to the worlds problem and unite many nation with a false sense of peace....and then sudden destruction.
None the less many will give there life to Christ during the tribulation these are the ones whom John spoke of when he said they came through great tribulation and other their garments wash white as snow according to the book of revelation. According to Daniel he will come out of Rome and will make presence known in the ten world federation by subduing three of the nations within that union. He will make a way possible for the Jewish people to rebuild their temple which at the moment is almost impossible because the Islam nation laid claim to the property where King Solomon had the first temple build this temple was destroyed by warring nation such as the Babylonians (present day Iraq) Medes and Persian (Iran) Greece and the Romans. Let’s remain playful and watch that we do not enter the desolation spoken off by the Prophet Daniel. For the anti Christ ones the temple has been rebuild will exalt himself as god and demand worship, all those who do not worship him will be put to death. We are living in the last days I encourage all to strengthen your faith through praying, fasting and reading allow God Word to operate in you and through your daily living more importantly yield yourself to the Holy Spirit. That's o.k. it's going to be bad enough you know! I think that if we are still here, we will be the only ones who will be screaming the truth at the top of our lungs and not many will pay attention.
I also lean more toward we will not be here because the bible says that the man of lawlessness will not be revealed until the one who holds him back has been removed. 2Th 2:7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. He who? I believe it's the Holy Spirit. Once we the Church are out of the way then the A.C. will show his true self. Posted by Kelly

I don't think (and I could be wrong here) that the text is talking about the Holy Spirit. For one, if the Holy Spirit left (the earth) no one could be saved, but the bible says that people will be saved in the tribulation. Also, we have to think... taken away by whom? No one takes the Holy Spirit. And the text couldn't mean the church, because the church is a she not a he. I believe we will be here, at the very least, to see the mark of the beast and the antichrist sit on the throne. After all, that text in thessalonians that you quoted is actually telling the thessalonians that they shouldn't think that the day of Christ is at hand yet because the antichrist has not sat in the temple acting as if he was God. If we aren't going to be here when this happens why would Paul say this as if we were going to be here when it happened? It's the same thing with taking the mark of the beast. If everybody is raptured already, why even mention that those who have taken the mark of the beast are not written in the lambs book of life. Wouldn't it be obvious since they weren't raptured? You see my point? Posted by Leroy Moore
