I know that a company called Dattebayo produced most of the manga and anime we see,but looking at the translated sentences and the way Naruto speaks,i dont think it means anything, tho.like the message above said,it's probably just narutos way of expressing himself,or a favourite word.To those who speak Japanese/Katakana,am i right?

dattebayo means nothing as ramona says.
in japan ppl there mostly have a habit of adding a word after every sentence.
take kenshin from rurouni kenshin for example, after every sentence he says godazu.
for naruto its dattebayo.
and u can find this very often in some animes too...

datteBayo is like an abreviation in the Japanese language. It doesnt have any translation in any other language.
Kishimoto explained that Narutto usses Datte Bayo after every second or in compleation of most words as a reminder of his childhood
Dattebayo has NO actual meaning and is just tagged to the end of narutos sentences, its just like his dialect. Naruto's style is '(verb stem)tte bayo!' For instance, wakattebayo is "I get it already" or nan dattebayo is "What (the heck) is that?"
Directly derived from an actual interview with the creator himself, Masashi kishimoto. (Quote) - Is Naruto's favorite phrase, "dattebayo" modeled on anything?
K: That isn't really modeled on anything either. When I thought of childlike speech, "dattebayo" instantly came to mind. It's like it's become a part of Naruto, and even now it brings out his "mischievousness". (End quote)
I guess it's just up to fans to determine for themselves what it truly means...
hope that answers your question :D
