About Me

I work out in the oilfields for a local well servicing company and I'm usually consistantly pretty busy. During time-off, I enjoy retreating to the warmth and familiarity of my family's ceremonial circle. I also enjoy checking out the pow-wow trail when time-off allows me. I'm a lil bit of ol' skool n a lil bit o'new skool. I try to catch up with my bros when I can and I immensely enjoy playing pool for hours. Currently playing in a Tuesday night pool league. I'm kind of a strange n freaky sort of type guy. I find solace amonst the darkness and am a quite at peace in the shadows of the night type person. I like most types of music but I'm a rocker to the bone. I don't drink or use drugs but I do enjoy the occasional night out with the boys for some good pool or cards. Sobriety's cool..wish more of us were here. I also like checkin out the live music scene for a good rock or blues band whenever I can. I like dark and freaky things like the strange and unusual (I can relate..lol). I like to joke and tease and just be plain stupid sometimes. I try to keep it light hearted when I can but I'm also a keep-it-real kind of guy. I'm pretty straight foward and I tend to speak my mind (silly me). When I say something, it's usually with earnest sincerity. Say what I mean and mean what I say. It's the piscean in me that's driven by passion and firm belief. Ah well...tuff! Pretention just plain annoys me as well as political correctness. This life is too short to not at least try to enjoy the ride. This pic of me is an old pic. I have almost no teeth anymore and whats left of my hair is full of diesel, oil, and buggz. I'm a total hockey rowdy......or at least that's what I heard. Lol. But who gives a crap! I'm ok with it. I use my loud mouth to cheer for our local hockey team, the Saddle Lake Warriors. One of these days I'm gonna be in the middle of a revolution at one of the local town arenas........and maybe later.....on an episode of COPS! It's all about Warrior pride baby! ....Warriors.....come out and play-yay!

Interests

Playing pool, volleyball, computer dabbling, pickin' the guitar, PS2, skiing, HOCKEY, baseball, the great outdoors, good coffee, walkin around Walmart (it's like Disneyland to me). I also like just cruizin around just for the hell of it...walking up and down Whyte Ave...eating cotton candy till I puke...movies and more movies....it's the dill pickle seasoning....I'm an addict.

Favorite Music

AC/DC, Metallica, Megadeth, John 5, Fifth Wheel, Carl Quinn, Trivium, DJ Tiesto, MC Mario, Ky Mani Marley, Nightwish, The Commitments, Def Leppard, John Fogerty, Los Lonely Boys, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Mozart, Pantera, Poison, Slipknot, Pearl Jam, Ministry of Sound, Buck Cherry, Johnny Cash, The Four Horsemen, Weird Al, Guns 'N Roses, Fuel, Atreyu, Van Halen, The Eagles, Killswitch Engage, Kiss, Papa Roach, Motley Crue, C-Weed, George Leach, Elmore James, Houndog Taylor, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Black Lodge, Northern Cree, Mountain Soul, Godsmack, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chunk, Nazareth, The Headpins, Collective Soul, Tantric, Black Label Society, CCR, Marilyn Manson, Kid Rock, Audioslave, Trooper, Jeff Healy, George Thorogood, Nirvana, Korn, Disturbed, Los Lobos, Keith Secola, Billy Joe Green, Shinedown, Joshua's Habit, The Jack Union, Jewel (yes, that's right..not only is she freakin talented, she's damn HOT!), Hell's Belles (all female AC/DC tribute), Creed, Alterbridge, Apocalyptica, The Ramones....

Current Favorite Artists / Bands: I'm not too fond of the rap crap but if you can move and shake your ass to it, bump and grind to it, thrash to it, drive to it, get lost in it, transcend this realm of reality with it, move your spirit with it, honour your ancestors with it, snap your fingers to it, tap your toes to it, pound your fist to it, stomp your feet to it, whistle along with it, or be inspired by it, then it's all good to me.

Favorite S: (ever?) it's AC/DC's "Jailbreak"..otherwise, this week, it's "Pin-Up" - Evans Blue, "The Last Fight" - Velvet Revolver, "Bearing Witness" - Collective Soul, "Rebel Yell" - Drowning Pool, "My Curse" - Killswitch Engage, "Balls to the Wall" - Accept...

Favorite Album: this week it's: Fuel - Angels & Devils

Favorite Music Video: Thriller - Michael Jackson (aw c'mon......you all know it's cool!)

Favorite Movies

I'm pretty much open to watching any kind of movie as long as they don't suck. But I am partial to movies such as the cleverly witted and well made type like Kill Bills or Matrix's and not so much the dumbass brainless jock type like Fast and Furious's. I like stupid comedies, fantasy lore, & the dark and freaky. I luv, and i mean absolutely luv, horror movies! I luv horror movies so much I'm actually amused and tickled pink by them and am usually that weirdo laughin all by himself in the theatre when all others are cringing and crapping their pants! All hail Michael Meyers and Leatherface.

Favorite TV Shows

I actually don't really have the time to watch much TV but IF and when I do it's some or any of: CSI's, MXC, Scrubs, Alias, Distraction, Fear Factor, Dog Eat Dog, Southpark, AFV..., and whatever cool shit they have on the National Geographic channel.

Favorite Books

Anything by J.R.R. Tolkien, books on the occult, Native history, Native philosophy, Native wisdom, etc...

Favorite Quote

"Luminous beings are we...Not this crude matter" - Master Yoda

a sensory reflection : Nov 9, 2006
I remember very clearly the sounds of the lakeshore birds as the setting July sun dipped into the western horizon. Ducks, swans, loons, and the shrill pitch of the running sandpiper lay in the distance. Playing from my backyard, I could see the day's last rays of light twinkling on the glass-like lake just a kilometer down the hill. Freshly cut grass is scattered about the yard and I recall the smell of dirt on my hands and on my knees.

I had the whole world and every magical place I could imagine just footsteps from my door. Bowling ball-sized painted white rocks lined our forever driveway. I'd be a great mountain climber as I scaled the tops of them. Across the driveway a row of grain bins lined the edge of the adjacent pasture where our horses kicked and galloped. My dog Laddie and I would find every excuse to hide behind one of the bins and chase any approaching wildlife: hooves, heels, and paws kicking up dirt in a wild pursuit.

Our driveway stretched through our yard with the highway on one end and the old dirt road along the lake on the other. Sometimes I'd trek northward on the old road past the pastures to find my "special" spot - my place of peace and tranquility lying up on a ledge of a small cliff, hugging a section of the long lake. As I stood on the cliff's edge looking across the water, I could feel the gentle summer breeze in my hair, tickling my shoulders. Frogs croaked in the creek behind me a song that was almost amplified because of the tall-standing poplars hovering the creek ravine.

All around my special spot were multitudes of saskatoon bushes, willows, and sage. In the warm months, gophers squeaked in the background while towers of mosquitoes hissed above. I wasn't the very best berry picker as purple ooze seeped from the plump, ripe berries onto my fingertips making a sticky mess. I didn't care. That sweet taste was reward enough.

When I was a mere infant, my grandparents from Saddle Lake had a sweat lodge hut in this place. I had always wondered what it was that drew me to this spot. There's a peaceful energy of healing and nurturing blanketing the area. I still go there today, whenever I need to atone. Sometimes I go there at night, sometimes to pray. I look up at the stars and see the Northern Lights cascading across the big night sky. Inspiration fills the moolit air. I close my eyes, take a deep breath, and I think to myself, ".....home.....".
