When she finished middle school she was sent away
to the big city to work day and night to keep her sick mother alive.

She found a job in a restaurant cleaning and waiting on tables day and night to keep her very sick mother alive.

My first time to meet was when she waited on our table, she wanted to practice her English with me in hope to get a better job to keep her sick mother alive.So I asked her name Cindy was the reply, that is my English name.

We learnt why she was in our city working and gave her a small job to clean my home they joy and smiles knowing she would have some more money to keep her very sick mother alive.

She worked long and hard hard hours in the restaurant but always came on time to make my home sparkle and shine, never stopping till she knew it was time to go back to the grind at the restaurant. But knowing the money she sends home keeps her very sick mother alive.

One day she came and after working hard sat down and cried, when asked why she told me they had not been paid and had no money to send home to her family to keep her very sick mother alive.

We walked to the bank, sent her on her way to the post office so the money could be sent home for medicine to keep her very sick mother alive.

The restaurant closed for renovations, the staff all sent away, so she went home to look after her very sick mother.

My 12th 2008 at 2:28pm her hometown was destroyed by the most destructive of earthquakes, both Cindy and her Mother died along with many thousand others.

Now she doesn't have to look after her very sick mother as they are both Angels in the sky, when it rains now in Wenchuan it will be them crying for all the people who also died.

She will always be remembered for her smile, her will to work all hours day and night to keep her very sick mother alive.
